I don’t know if “Love” is the right work to describe how much I liked this book because of the subject matter and it being a crime/mystery novel, but I thought it was fantastic! Loved the writing, loved the main characters, loved that I knew some words but had to google others because I wasn’t totally sure what they meant. Forgive me as I was born in England, I’ve lived all but 3 yrs of my life in the US. I loved the charm and wit of Sanne & Meg & Nelson. I’m a good fan Andrea Bramhall’s Norfolk Coast Investigation series but this series may have topped that one for me, although I will continue to wait patiently for any new Bramhall new release. Looks like I need to get caught upon Cari Hunter’s other books however! Would absolutely recommend this book!Product details

Excellent mystery. Character relationships are realistic and you get the viewpoint from both the police and medical sides. I will be looking for more by this author. The pacing kept me reading until I was done with the book. Luckily, I was not working the next day and could sleep in a bit.
I really loved this book. As an avid reader it is hard to find enough good books to read. This book was great. Combine the mystery with a great friendship between two women add the romance and I'm happy. I can't wait to read book 2. This would make a great audio book.
I waited 2 days after I bought this book to start reading because I knew I would sit down and not stop until I had finished the entire thing. It was well worth the wait. Outstanding character development. I am so looking forward to seeing where these characters go in upcoming stories. Believable well paced mystery. This book is a keeper. Buy it. Read it. Count the days until next installment.
This what you get this book a good mystery minus romance. I liked the characters Sanne and Meg. What I liked about Sanne was she wasn't your typical bad ass cop. She admitted to being scared. The only thing I found that bothered me a little but not enough to stop reading was. The books pace was slow, I like my mysterious fast pace. I did feel like I have visited England even though I never been. I do recommend this book. Off to read book 2.
This is an excellent romance novel and a great mystery. The author has managed to capture that atmosphere of a police station and a busy A&E department perfectly. Unsurprisingly the author is a paramedic, and as a former Australian ER and Psych nurse (now retired) I can say she is spot on. I can also attest to the accuracy of the police station scenes, coming from a family with many members on the New Zealand force! I am currently reading book three in this series and hoping for many more
The novel is both a great romance and a criminal mystery. I could see this plot as part of "Criminal Minds". Det. Sanne (Sanner) Jensen has been friends with Dr. Med Fielding some they were very young. They are friends with benefits. On one of Sanne's runs, she comes across a terrible accident...a woman has fallen over the cliff. Sanner gets banged up in her rescue and there's more to it than just falling off the cliff. Sanner is in the good graces of her boss, Eleanor, but not so much with Eleanor's Asst. Sanner and her partner break all the rules the scout out the crime scene and then the criminal. It is awesome!
There are a lot of things to like about this story
#1 is the relationship between Sanne and Meg.
#2 is how Cari Hunter handled the telling of the story. I really liked that as the reader we are seeing the investigation and the aftermath of the crime but we don't actually witness the crime as it occurs.
#3 I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the use of "British" English. Most of the time I was able to figure out what some of the slang meant just based on the context of the sentence. Otherwise, my kindle did a great job providing the definitions.
#4 that this is the 1st in the series, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with the development of all the characters.
